Natural Mood Enhancer

In my life, there is a high correlation between my mood and the amount of time I spend outdoors.

You can guess the direction… the more time I spend outdoors = better my mood 🙂

I think it is the combination between the fresh air, the sunlight and the beautiful trees and flowers..

My stroll fast paced, arm-strengthening walk today was all the better as I had Josh’s 4-legged bundles of joy, Zac and Bailey with me.

We walked to the dog park where I let them off their leashes to run around and explore.

They were pretty calm until they spotted the birds…

After a fun running sesh we headed back home where they crashed, and spent the rest of the afternoon fast asleep 🙂

So, if you feel like a nature mood enhancer, step outside and soak up the fresh air and don’t forget to look for the beauty in the little things…

What is something that never fails to enhance your mood?

Versatile Blogger Award

Thank you Dashing Diva’s for nominating me for ‘The Versatile Blogger’ Award!

Here are 5 random facts about me, one of the criteria I need to share in order to receive the award.

1. I have a large family and have been a Bridesmaid 5 times – I have 16 first cousins (including all their wonderful partners that takes us to 25!) I love each one of them dearly, and am blessed to share a special relationship with them all individually.

I wish I had a photo that included everyone! This is the closest I have.

2. I spent an awesome month of my life in the Amazon rainforest working on a sustainability project. There is no place more tranquil and more beautiful than the rainforest.  Working with the gorgeous animals, fellow volunteers and the wonderful Peruvian people made this experience unforgettable.

Tarantulas..

3. I have Coffee Au Lait birthmarks (sounds delicious) on my neck, arm, tummy and back. It is something that I am learning to accept and I try to love about myself – We are all unique in our own way, right?

4. My favourite fruit is bananas. I love them in my oats, dipped in peanut butter, mixed with yoghurt, on their own, in a fruit salad, served with curry, sliced thinly in a chocolate crepe…

Banana makes every breakfast complete

5. I love to paint!

Have an awesome day!

Rainy Day

Good morning, friends!

Don’t you agree that it is just THAT much harder getting out of bed on a rainy day?

View from my balcony

Well that was certainly the case this morning. My day is starting nice and early, I am off to teach a Kindergarten class at a school around the corner. I am a ‘casual’ teacher which means I fill in when one of the permanent staff are away. It is great – I love it! But waiting for those calls can sometimes be a pain.

This morning I had my usual oats and tea for breaky

Oats and Tea mmm

and packed my school lunch

Vegetable minestrone soup, apple, banana, picnic and tea!

The plan was to go for a run after school, but this weather is not looking promising.

What exercise do you like to do on a rainy day? (or is it an automatic excuse for a ‘rest’ day?)

Anyway, lets stay optimistic and hope it clears up 🙂

Have a great day!
