What a lovely day off! My mom and I decided to try somewhere new for lunch.
My sister and her friends recommended this place in Alexandria, an old warehouse converted into a cool ‘canteen’. The decor was beautiful! Lovely fresh produce, plants and homemade spreads and condiments.
Each table had different centre pieces. Pictured here is a tray with chilli, garlic, onions, jars with twigs and pot plants. This was my favourite! Gorgeous colours.
We sat here, with a big butternut between us. We spent a good couple of hours soaking up the sun light and chatting away.
I had the cauliflower, celeriac potato & leek infused soup with parmesan and sour dough bread on the side. It was delicious! I want to try replicate it at home sometime this week. Full of flavour, thick and creamy.
My mom had the toasted sourdough with organic avocado and fresh tomato with olive oil and coriander. This bread was amazzzzing, and the tomatoes were juicy and well flavoured. We ended up ordering another one to share :).
After lunch we went to visit my grandparents and then it was time for Body Attack, which a good sweat as usual. I then popped by to visit Liv and had a quick cuppa tea.
Time now to head for my cousins for dinner. It is always a fun dinner filled with lots of kids running around, good food and very special company.
Happy Friday!
What do you like to do when you have a day off?
This sounds like a lovely day off – any day off is good in my view, but this has a beautiful mix of activities and a gorgeous sunny lunch!
I agree – any day off is well enjoyed! But nothing bets lunch in the sun 🙂
That soup!!! i could dive in –
Such a perfect winter day activity!
How delish barbs! So nice getting a comment from u 🙂

Sounds like an awesome day my friend 🙂
I am in love with the idea of sitting at a table with a butternut as the centerpiece – its so Alice in wonderland for me 😛

what a nice day.. and you spent it with your mom. so sweet. that soup looks delish, i love it when they look all creamy and rich, but it’s really cauliflower. on my day off.. well, i SLEEP and wake up at like 11 am… then chill.. drink tea, bake a cake, watch tv, surf the internet.. basically all things i love to do. i probably wouldn’t go out since my NYC commute wears me out. 🙂
I know I agree- no cream needed to make it ‘creamy’. Day off spent at home is just as good 😉
Yummy! That soup sounds really good!! And a hunk of bread on the side is the perfect addition 🙂
Bread is definitely needed to fill me up!
This place looks amazing! I wish we had stuff like this here 😦
Have a great weekend!
